Perfect seating and sleeping solution for smaller rooms. Over the years the Canterbury 3 seat has proved to be one of our most popular sofa beds for smaller spaces with limited access. Designed specifically around the click-clack mechanism, renowned for the simple way it converts from a sofa to bed position with just a couple of clicks of the frame. The mechanism has not one but two seating positions, standard as a sofa or for relaxing there's also a slight reclining position. When using the sofa bed for sleeping the frame simply lifts from the front and converts into an adequate size double bed. Fully removable arm rests (these slide on and off) plus the added bonus of the large storage space in the base of the bed, handy for storing bedding, pillows, etc...

Kindly Note: Due to the size the Canterbury sofa bed will always be delivered as 4 packages where some customer self-assembly is required. This model is very popular with our narrowboat customers as it will open across the boat width to make a comfortable 3 seat sofa. We guarantee the packages will fit on your boat, but please make sure once assembled you have enough room as the sofa bed is 220cm wide.

So pleased that I finally found this sprung base click clack sofa. Bought the one with the pocket sprung pad and am absolutely delighted. Ferrara fabric is cosy and whole thing well constructed. Looks really smart and was easy to put together with 2 people took about 30 mins. Have been recommending to friends.

This is incredibly well made and well thought out. It took about an hour to put together (I took my time) the instructions were easy to follow.<br /> <br /> It looks really nice and is so comfortable. I've not slept on it but we made the bed up and laid for a while, it's big and really comfy - the extra we paid for pocket sprung is well worth it.<br /> <br /> Looks good, good value, fantastic build quality...what more can I say - very highly recommended!
I love our Canterbury sofa bed. I usually hate sofa-beds because of the thin mattresses, awkward bars, and difficult unfolding and putting away making for a frustrating and uncomfortable sleep. This sofabed is nothing like that. <br /> <br /> We use it every day as our regular sofa and it's perfect and super comfy. When we have people stay over they always comment on how comfortable it is to sleep on. I've even had people ask where I bought it because they want one of their own! <br /> <br /> There is also so much storage in this sofa. We've stashed loads under there as well as the spare duvet and pillows we use for it. The fact that it comes in pieces and is easy to assemble was also perfect for our flat as we had to navigate a very small narrow staircase. Being able to quickly assemble it ourselves was super convenient.

Bed arrived today, the guys put it in my desired room, which was worth it to me as it would have been awkward to do it on my own. After taking off the protective wrapping, it was very very easy to put together. probably took me 30 minutes to complete. It is sturdy and looks very comfortable to sit on and assume it will be equally comfortable to sleep on. Thank you Sofabed Barn, the click-clack system makes it very simple to convert from sofa to bed and back again.
We are thrilled with our new sofa, which arrived early, in time for Christmas. We weren’t expecting it until mid January! It’s so comfy for sitting, lying around & sleeping & has been properly tested for the last 3 weeks! We’ve had 4 plus dog watching tv, no problem!! Absolutely love my sofa, beautifully made and easy to assemble. The first day we had it (after sitting on camping chairs for nearly a month) I put my feet up as did the dog too and we promptly both fell asleep in front on the TV. Absolutely GREAT customer service, the sofa wasn't due until after the New Year but spoke with Michael who said he would see what he could do for pre Christmas delivery, was delighted to get a call to say it would be delivered before Christmas- OUTSTANDING :) Delivery guys were great too. We looked for a good while for a sofa bed. All of which you can find don't appear to be comfy as sofas or small in size. We have a conservatory-come play room which needed some seating and is quite a good space. And in the event I'm relegated to the sofa after coming home a little worse for wear after a wales international day I wanted something that could convert to a bed. All queries and questions were promptly answered by the team. We are entirely web purchasers as we are so far away and the current covid situation. And I can't praise the process enough. And the product speaks for itself. Its stunning quality and assembles very quickly and simply. And the main thing.... it's comfy. Our house is quite small with the living room and dining room as one space. Which is why we needed a sofa bed that saves on space and can also seat more than 2 people. The item arrived in four pieces and was quite straightforward to assemble. The storage area underneath the seats are a decent size as well. The only part I struggled with was attaching the armrests but after a quick phone call, they gave me some good tips and it worked a charm! The sofabed itself is very comfortable and easy to operate. We just wanted to thank Michael and his team for our beautiful sofa bed.We wanted it for our narrowboat to be mainly used as a sofa and an occasional bed for any visitors. It exceeds all expectations! We love it a zillion percent! We ordered a sofabed so that we could have guests staying in our living room.<br /> <br /> As a sofa it has two back positions, so that it can be upright or reclined, and the mattress is comfortable to sit on. The arms of the sofa bed are padded but narrow so that it does not seem to take up a huge amount of room.<br /> <br /> As a sofabed, the mattress is tied firmly to the slatted base, made of two pieces, which do not have an uncomfortable bar between them, so it is comfortable to lie accross. <br /> <br /> We went for the upgraded mattress option and it is just fine to sleep on.<br /> <br /> It can be turned into a sofabed by lifting up the seat of the sofa until it clicks, which releases the back to a flat position.<br /> It feels lightweight and I can do it easily.<br /> <br /> The storage space underneath is excellent and roomy for bedding.<br /> <br /> Putting it together did take a little while but the instructions were clear and we did manage it. <br /> <br /> The delivery was a little later than scheduled but we kept in touch with the sofabarn and it did arrive. <br /> <br /> We really liked all of the different pattern and material options.<br /> <br /> <br />
I think that the Canterbury 3 seater is a really first class product, and absolutely ideal for a narrow boat. We wanted a product that was very comfortable as a sofa, as this was to be its main use. Too many sofa beds compromise this comfort for the sake of being a bed also, but the Canterbury is perfect for both. Strongly recommend.

We've been looking for a new sofa bed for ages and was recommended to have a look at sofa bed barn , we took the trip up to see the show room the quality and service is beyond outstanding nothing is to much trouble for these guys warm friendly advice and if they have it in the show room you can take it away with you that day all rapped up we took some measurements of our own and picked one we wanted and could not wait to get back to our boat so easy to put together and it's like they made it for our boat perfect thank you guys for every piece of help and advice you gave from 2 very happy and relaxed boaters
My sofa bed arrived this week, looks fantastic and the 3 seater is perfect for a Narrowboat plenty of room even when it is down to get past it. Fantastic service, delivery was efficient and he put it up in 15 mins So worry not all you boaters take the plunge I did and am so pleased I did.

This is such a great sofa and makes an excellent bed. It is the perfect size for a narrowboat both as a sofa and a bed, but I'm sure it'd look great in many other situations. This is the second Canterbury 3 seat sofa bed we have had from the Sofabed Barn (the first one stayed with the boat when we sold it). Great looking sofabed that is really comfy both as a sofa and a bed. The click clack mechanism is perfect for a narrowboat as it opens lengthways down the boat. The Canterbury 3 seat offers great quality at a great price. Helpful, friendly staff and exceptional customer service both times. I wouldn't buy a sofabed for a narrowboat anywhere else.
